Warrawong Readers - Port Kembla Anglican Church

**This project is now complete**

Warrawong Readers was a reading program for toddlers, to read stories and books to children before they are of school age. A fully qualified infants teacher was employed one day a week to supervise the leaders who read to the kids in the program.

The church had an agreement with Child & Family Health Services for a clinic to operate twice weekly in the hall so young mums could bring their kids for a check up.

The parish ran Warrawong Readers on the same day as the clinic so that the mums and kids who were already onsite for the check-ups could easily attend.

There were many migrant and Aboriginal communities in the Parish which were served well by this program.
