  • A new English Primary School is opening in Tanzania to provide quality education for rural children

    It is very exciting to see the planning coming to fruition with the opening of the Shalom Pre and Primary School in Bunda on track for the first intake of students on January 8th 2018. Please keep reading and find out how you can help make this dream a reality for some of the children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • It’s holiday time for staff and students of BGSS (Bunda Girls Secondary School)

    For the students, its a happy time to be with family and enjoy home cooking, but it is also a time to study hard in preparation for exams in the coming semester. The girls sent home to look for fees returned to sit for their exams, bringing at least part of their overdue fees. But as they are now home on holidays I know that for many of them it is still an anxious time as their parents struggle to find fees for them to complete the year.

  • Water is always a challenge at Bunda Girls Secondary School

    Read more about life for girls at this Anglican Boarding school in Tanzania, including their library, Sports Day, the new school kitchen under construction and the urgent need for help with school fees so that the girls who have been sent home because of outstanding fees, can return and sit for their exams.

  • Bunda Girls Secondary School has started 2017 with an increase in students, staff and buildings.

    One of the happiest girls is "Betty", who performed very well in her Form 2 National exams, and now, thanks to a generous sponsor, her fees have been paid. So no more being sent home to find fees and struggling with her mother to sell firewood so that she can come back to the classroom. (see last Blog entry for her story)

    It is a very sad and difficult thing to do when we have to send a girl home three weeks before the exams as she has not completed her school fees. If you are able to help a student with some school fees, this could be your opportunity to give new hope for a young girl to fulfil her dreams of getting a good education.
