Anglican Aid’s Prayer Diary 2022

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: That if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
1 John 5:14
Dear Friends,

‘Jesus was a man of prayer. He would rise to pray ‘early in the morning’ (Mark 1:35), and ‘often withdrew…to pray’ (Luke 5:16). As I have been looking ahead to 2022, I have been renewed in my eagerness to follow Jesus’ example, and pray regularly for Anglican Aid’s partners around the world. I am conscious of the spiritual battle they are in. I am conscious they have few material resources. But as Jesus prayed and was strengthened, we know God will strengthen our brothers and sisters around the world as we pray. Anglican Aid currently supports 139 projects in 40 countries which transform communities and strengthen churches. Whilst our financial support is critical, ultimately it is God through the power of his Spirit who enables our projects to flourish and bring glory to him.

This year we want to continue seeing the grace of God overflow in the most disadvantaged, remote communities of the world, where injustice and suffering are rife. So Jesus urges us to “always pray and not give up” in Luke 18. We are promised that those who call out to their Father in heaven in faith will “get justice, and quickly”.

Let us hold fast to this promise. Please use this daily prayer diary and join with me this year as we commit the partners, projects and people we serve to God, praying that we would indeed see his grace overflow to a world in need.’
