Zambezia Water and Sanitation

Anglican Aid is working with the Anglican Diocese of Zambezia in Mozambique to improve access to clean water sources and hygiene facilities, and empower communities with sanitation education. 

In the region, access to water and sanitary facilities are limited. Without secure access to potable water, and adequate toilets and bathrooms, the community is at high risk of waterborne diseases.  

This brings many issues including the time and cost of caring for sick children and family members. For communities that are already struggling, this burden can be immense.  

This Project seeks to reduce the harmful impact of poor quality water and sanitation facilities in Diocese of Zambezia. Employing a holistic and community centred approach, the project will reach out to 5 communities to build essential infrastructure, provide training, and grow the capacity of leaders.  

This will ensure that these communities will have the resources needed to access safe water, and also implement good practices to avoid waterborne diseases in the future.
