Because of Jesus: Christmas Appeal 2023

Sowing Kindness | Growing Livelihoods | Showing Thankfulness

Sowing kindness

You can help families in need grow their skills, crops, and livelihood – filling tables and tummies for this season and the long term.

Together with local churches, Anglican Aid is helping families in Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, and beyond through life-giving income generation projects.

We work with Christians who provide skills, seedlings, and stock animals to families in need. This helps relieve food insecurity, malnutrition, and poverty.

Families who receive this support can raise animals and grow crops for their table and to take to market, earn a livelihood to support their children, and be generous to neighbours who are also in need.

Your giving

This Christmas, your tax-deductible gift can help fill tables and tummies for this season and the long term. Please give generously Because of Jesus.

Growing livelihoods

Avatar
Gitega, Burundi

The Diocese of Gitega provides agricultural training through a demonstration garden and gives seedlings to local farmers. This helps prevent malnutrition as families now have enough healthy food to eat.

Marsabit, Kenya

In this drought-prone area, the local church has dug irrigation ponds and constructed water tanks for kitchen-gardens. These water- harvesting activities allow the community to grow food, saving them from hunger during droughts.

Zimbabwe

Anglican Aid partners with Honeyworld to empower local farmers in Zimbabwe to set up, manage, harvest, package and sell good quality honey.

Shyira, Rwanda

Piglets are given to needy families for food and fertiliser by the Anglican Diocese. Mature animals can be taken to market and sold, allowing families to afford essentials like school supplies. One piglet from each litter is then given to a neighbour in need.

Showing thankfulness

“Besides producing enough for my family, I generate an income from selling a part of my production. This allows me to balance diet, afford education for all my children, and to buy new clothes for my family. The Lord has been so gracious to us.”

Pascal Mbaziro, project participant

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.

Isaiah 61:11
