Anglican Aid’s 2026 Prayer Diary

“I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.” Romans 15:30
Dear Friends,
These were Paul’s words as he closed his letter to God’s people in Rome. Paul really wanted them to pray for him! He knew prayer would make a difference when he went to Jerusalem where he would face dangerous opponents and meet with the Lord’s people (Romans 15:31). For Paul, though the Romans were far away, they could love him and join in his struggle through prayer.
At the beginning of 2026 that’s what I invite you to do this year – to pray faithfully, compelled by God’s love. Anglican Aid’s partners also greatly value your prayers as they serve in contexts of great difficulty, where they experience natural disasters, poverty, persecution, and war. Development Coordinator for the Diocese of Gitega in Burundi, Arsène Mafurebe, shared this message when he sent prayer points for this year’s Prayer Diary: “We are full of gratitude to know that someone, somewhere, is praying for us and the work of God in this part of the world.”
Our prayers matter. Arsène knows it is God who is working through his projects. And God works in response to our prayers, from the other side of the globe! For Arsène, knowing we are praying strengthens his resolve. We join in his struggle. He is not alone.
Our 2026 Prayer Diary includes 31 days of prayers and prayer points for a range of partners providing emergency aid and relief, ministry training, food security, clean water, education, and more.
If you would like printed copies of the Prayer Diary for your church or Bible study group, or a copy for your personal use, please call 02 9284 1406 or email hello@anglicanaid.org.au. We would be glad to organise that for you (Australian addresses only).
Thank you for praying faithfully to God in 2026.
In Christ,
