The Diocese of Gitega is helping families to feed themselves and generate income by providing farmer training, tools, seedlings, and goats for organic fertiliser. The impact has been dramatic. Over three years, participants’ crop yields have increased by an average of 79.9%.
In drought-prone Marsabit, the Anglican church is helping vulnerable people to harvest water for drinking and to irrigate their crops. The project involves providing water tanks, dam liners, fencing to protect gardens from animals, seedlings, and more.
The Diocese of Kindu is training 170 farmers to improve food production through 10 farm schools. The project is being rolled out through local churches.
Transform lifts people out of poverty through giving access to clean water and training in farming, WASH, health, and financial literacy.
The Episcopal University is developing a farm to generate income for the university and food for the community. It will also train students, staff, and local farmers in effective farming practices.
