The most recent step BRS has taken to further serve the needs of its community, is to extend classes for girls from the 8th grade to the 10th. Without this opportunity, many girls discontinue their schooling after year 8 as fees for upper secondary education are higher and unaffordable and girls face discrimination or safety concerns when travelling to government schools far away from their community. Families in Rufin Colony shared heartbreaking stories of their daughters facing harassment and urged BRS to extend its classes.
To provide these classes, BRS has invested in a range of new resources including textbooks and lab equipment. Your support means girls in years 9 and 10 can continue their schooling, improve their future opportunities, and break the cycle of poverty in their community.
