The Rev. Tim Swan, CEO of The Archbishop of Sydney’s Anglican Aid, has been made an Honorary Canon of St. Andrew’s Cathedral by Archbishop Glenn Davies in recognition of Tim’s service in the Diocese of Sydney and Chile and his role in Anglican Aid.

Canon Swan joins an esteemed group representing significant ministries in Sydney and further afield, including most recently Canon Daniel Willis (2018) and Canon Simon Manchester (2019).

Tim said, “I feel very honoured to be granted this title, which is a marker of respect for many Anglicans across the world with whom I will be working. As CEO of The Archbishop of Sydney’s Anglican Aid I’m helping to strengthen the relationship between the Diocese of Sydney and other dioceses as together we work to proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations.”

He added, “St Andrew’s Cathedral Sydney is one of a growing global network of cathedral churches committed to guarding the truth of the gospel and reflecting the glory of God to all those around. As an honorary canon, I am thrilled to be associated with such work.”

Tim is marking the end of his second month as CEO of Anglican Aid. In the month of June, Tim was to have represented the diocese at a GAFCON bishops’ conference in Kigali, Rwanda, then visiting several theological colleges, schools, and clean water projects supported by Anglican Aid in Tanzania, Congo, Rwanda and Kenya.
