Thank you so much for praying for and giving to Anglican Aid’s The Weary World Rejoices Christmas Appeal.
I’m sure you’ll be encouraged to know that there was a generous response of almost $300,000 given to help the “weary world rejoice” in places like South Africa, India, Malawi, and beyond. Praise God!
Your gift makes a difference to people like Sinesipho
To encourage you about the impact of your gift, I want to share with you this story we have just received from the Intsika project in South Africa – one of the projects featured in the appeal.
Thirteen-year-old Sinesipho is wheelchair-bound due to complications from meningitis she had as a baby. She doesn’t go to school. Her grandmother started bringing her to Intsika’s Friday afternoon outreach group last year where she would arrive full of joy and eager to hear the Bible stories. Intsika’s Program Manager Laura Goosen said the team felt led by the Lord to ask if Sinesipho would like to join one of Intsika’s educational assistance groups.

“What we’ve seen has been incredible!” said Laura. Sinesipho is learning letters, forming words, beginning to read and participating in maths, calling out answers with pride. “Our hope is to keep helping her learn to read—opening doors to new opportunities and a world that has been largely closed to her,” said Laura.
Not only has Sinesipho thrived in her learning, the other children have welcomed her, including her in games, pushing her wheelchair, and helping her place puzzle pieces. “Sinesipho is discovering more of what she can do, while inspiring the other children to be caring and inclusive,” said Laura. “Sinesipho has truly been an inspiration to all of us – a reminder that when a child is included and valued, the whole community grows.”
