INDIA: A place to thrive

Ramya is thriving in her studies.

Ramya was struggling when she came to Bangalore Women’s Safehouse as a teenager. Her mother had left the family when Ramya was very young and her father’s new wife treated Ramya harshly. She was sent to a hostel where she acted out and was asked to leave. Ramya’s aunt asked if the safehouse could help.

In the two years since Ramya has been there, the staff have seen her change dramatically. From being a withdrawn child, she is now a cheerful, caring Year 10 student who studies diligently. She attends church and Sunday School every week and has a committed prayer life. She often makes cards to give her friends and teachers to encourage and bless them.

She wants to be a teacher when she finishes school.

Pray:

  • Pray that Ramya will continue to learn well and grow in her faith.
