DR CONGO: Raising chickens

Pastor Jacques and his wife Anny have established a chicken business.

Pastor and father of 11, Jacques Bahunde was struggling to meet his family’s needs and asked our partner in DR Congo, Life in Abundance, for a small business loan. He and his wife Anny received a loan of about $375 in January and used the money to start a chicken business in their small compound. By the end of February, they were able to sell 183 chickens to local restaurants for $15, generating $2750. Pastor Jacques and Anny are thankful to God: ‘’We have given a tithe (10%) from our money generated. The rest was used to reimburse the loan, sustain the project and provide for our basic needs”.

They were able to buy 350 more chickens with their profits and are committed to serving God in their church, knowing their family’s needs are met.

Pray:

  • Pray that Life in Abundance will help many more pastors and vulnerable people to start small businesses to support their families.
