EGYPT: Equipping Refugees for Work

When one of Refuge Egypt’s English teachers arrived at the UNHCR office in Cairo late last year, a young, well-dressed Sudanese woman stepped out of an Uber and rushed to greet him. The teacher saw that it was Nyaguena, a former English language student from Refuge Egypt’s Adult Education Program, who was now working as an interpreter at the UNHCR office.

“Thank you teacher for your great investment in me,” Nyaguena said. “I don’t face any difficulty in interviewing
my clients. I’ve benefited a lot from the ‘Wh-questions’ lesson!”

“Well, it’s my duty to see you find a better job,” the teacher responded. “I’m really proud of you!”.

Pray:

  • Praise God for the work of Refuge Egypt, sharing his love with refugees.
