It was 2013 when Gatdial’s family home was burned down and his father lost his business and cattle in the conflict in South Sudan. Hoping to provide him with education, Gatdial’s aunt took him to Uganda. While living in a refugee camp there, he was offered a scholarship so he could attend secondary school.

In partnership with the Mothers’ Union of South Sudan in Uganda, Anglican Aid is helping South Sudanese refugee students in Adjumani Refugee Camp to attend local secondary schools in Uganda.

Gatdial is grateful for this opportunity: “While in school, I have been enjoying the massive support from Anglican Aid sponsorship in terms of school fees, feeding while in school, and school materials. I also learn new things in class which signify to me that the future is bright . . . We hope you continue supporting us so that we again copy from you and do the same for our fellow citizens of South Sudan.”
