“We thank God for the gift of Christian partnership with Anglican Aid in gospel ministry—a ministry that is holistic in focus, ministering to the soul but also to the body, so that the abundant life that Jesus Christ promised to all who come to him is realised.”
Bishop of Marsabit, Qampicha Daniel Wario
In the arid north of Kenya, Bishop Qampicha serves in a tough ministry environment. His people battle poverty, devastating drought, and the eruption of violent episodes of tribal conflict. But even in this most difficult place, God’s grace is at work through his church.
Dabbo (pictured above) is one of those who struggled in poverty in Marsabit. A mother of four, for years she struggled to grow enough food to feed her children. Even after digging a pond to collect rainwater, she faced constant stress: animals trampled and destroyed her seedlings, children played dangerously near the water, and she lived in fear of losing her crops.
But through the support of Anglican Aid donors, our partner, the Diocese of Marsabit, was able to fence and secure Dabbo’s pond as part of their water harvesting project called Generate. Today, her farm is flourishing. She said:
“I praise God for the great things he has done! I no longer worry about my plants dying, as I have a reliable source of water. This project has reduced my stress and given me confidence. I thank the church and the donors who supported us. God bless you.”
Guyo’s family in Marsabit has also seen remarkable change thanks to the Diocese’s help. Last year, Generate gave Guyo a dam liner, fencing for his pond, and seedlings to plant. Since then, his farm has thrived and provides a reliable source of food and income for his whole family.
Because of this, Guyo has been able to enrol in theological college to prepare for full-time ministry. His desire is to strengthen the church in Marsabit in the face of Islamic extremism and an abundance of false teachings such as the prosperity gospel. His parents are using the income from the farm to support him in his studies and provide food for persecuted believers. Praise God!

These stories show the ripple effect of simple project activities like a fence or some seedlings. One act of support doesn’t just feed a family. It strengthens a church, lifts a community, and shines the light of Christ in places of need.
This kind of transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It is the fruit of faithful, ongoing partnership. Anglican Aid has been working with the Diocese of Marsabit for almost a decade. This long-term relationship means we understand and trust each other, and work together to develop projects that communities need and bring lasting change. As well as the Generate project, we have been providing emergency relief to people displaced by conflict in Marsabit and have been training church leaders through courses in biblical theology, Bible study leading, evangelism, and more. And this is just one example of many fruitful partnerships we have in 34 countries!
Anglican Aid has been able to commit to the work in Marsabit and beyond because of faithful, regular gifts over many years from Anglican Aid supporters. This is why we want to build on this and develop a community of regular givers which we are calling Grace Collective.
We are grateful for all kinds of support we receive from donors. But in particular, ongoing monthly gifts allow us to:
- Plan for lasting impact: With faithful supporters, we can walk alongside partners year after year, ensuring stories like Dabbo’s and Mr Guyo’s continue to multiply.
- Respond quickly to urgent needs: From droughts in Kenya to disaster relief in places like Pakistan, Madagascar and Syria, your gift ensures help is ready when it’s needed most.
Being part of Grace Collective means you will receive regular updates, stories, prayer points, and invitations to events. Our regular givers say it’s a joy for them to see projects bearing fruit and learn about how their gifts are helping people in the world’s poorest countries to thrive in Christ.
Will you join Grace Collective to help our gospel partners in Marsabit and beyond to minister to both body and soul? Together, we can see God’s grace overflow to a world in need.
