Pray for Myanmar

Following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on Friday 28 March, Anglican Aid reached out to our partners there asking how we could pray for them.
Rev Paul Myinthtet, of Holy Cross Theological College, told us:
“Yes, since 2019 we have been facing difficulties and challenges until now. Pandemic, coup, flood, and now earthquake. The number of dead people because of the earthquake is rising day by day. Besides, small earthquakes are happening daily.
Some of my students and family need support and we are doing what we can. Please continue to remember us and we deeply appreciate your concerns. Heavy traffic due to the highway road destruction.
Again, thank you and please convey my heartfelt thanks to all at Anglican Aid.”
Though Anglican Aid does not have an emergency aid project in Myanmar (our partners there provide Theological Education for Christian leaders, through Holy Cross Theological College and Mother’s Union), we ask you to pray for their situation.
A prayer for Myanmar
Mighty God, blessed are all who take refuge in you.
We bring before you the people of Myanmar, suffering from the effects of an earthquake, government instability, and poverty. The whole creation groans with the effects of sin.
God of compassion, please provide food, shelter, and medical care to those who are suffering, and resources for them to rebuild homes and livelihoods. Please bring comfort to those who grieve loved ones. Would you bring many to know that you are God, their ever-present help in trouble, and that nothing in all creation can separate us from your love. We ask you to come, Lord Jesus and restore all things. We pray in your name and for your glory.
Amen.
